Step 1: Getting to Know You
Provide basic information on our “Contact us” page. We’ll contact you to set up a complimentary phone consultation or you can schedule one online to find out more about your design project and to introduce you to us and how we work.
Step 2: Initial Visit, Agreement and Measure Appointment
Next, we’ll meet with you at your home or place of business (or, if it’s under construction, at a location of your choosing) for an initial consultation. At this meeting the designer will look at the space(s) to be designed, look at the pieces to be included in the design, review design needs and style, go over any available architectural drawings, and finalize the budget. Immediately after the meeting, we will send you a detailed document (called a Service Agreement) outlining the scope of work, our design fees, and other pertinent terms and details pertaining to your project. Once you’ve approved the Service Agreement, we will go to your home or business to take measurements and photos of the room(s) to be designed. If your project is a full renovation or new build, we will have a separate meeting with the architectural team, general contractor and/or builder.
Step 3: Design Plan and Presentation
We create a design plan based on both what we have learned from you and our own creative ideas. This typically takes 4-6 weeks from the initial visit, although it may take longer, depending on the size of the project. We will then present our design to all decision-makers. Depending on the scope of the project, we will provide you with photos, floor plans, renderings, elevations, fabric and paint samples, and/or samples of other materials we recommend as well as a detailed proposal with pricing for each item or service. This phase may consist of a series of presentations as we move from concept to final design. The design is then fine-tuned and/or approved.
Step 4: Implementation
At this point, or from the beginning, you can opt to have us put the plan into action, or you can take the design and run with it yourself. If you choose to have us implement the plan, then once you’ve approved the final design and proposal, furnishings and materials are ordered, and all work is scheduled. From now until the construction is complete and/or the furnishings are delivered, you will be waiting awhile (from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the project) to see the final transformation from concept to reality. Please know that we are working diligently behind the scenes, following up on all orders and ensuring delivery of all fixtures to the job site, as well as communicating with you, and your builder, architect, and/or contractor, to answer any questions and check in on your project as needed.
We’ll provide you with regular updates and, as always, we will be available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.
Step 5: Installation and Accessorizing
Once everything is in and has been fully inspected, we will schedule white glove delivery of all furniture and large accessories and rugs, as well as professional window treatment installation.
At any point during the project, you can ask us to select & oversee the professional installation of art & accessories for you (Design Finale). You don’t have to lift a finger.
